Student Development Division Hosts Orientation 2025 "Mor Mark Muan Season 2" to Welcome New Freshmen Across All Faculties

Udon Thani Rajabhat University organizes the 2025 Orientation for new undergraduate students, featuring executive welcomes, academic guidance, student leadership engagement, gender-inclusive activities, and transition support to ensure holistic student development.

Context & Rationale

This orientation and student transition initiative centered on the "New Student Orientation Academic Year 2025," conducted from June 14 to 15, 2025, at the Student Activity Building, Udon Thani Rajabhat University (UDRU). The welcoming ceremony was presided over by President Asst. Prof. Dr. Kanissara Thansunthornsakul. The primary rationale of this project is to facilitate a seamless transition for incoming freshmen into higher education. By delivering essential information on academic curricula, course registration, student welfare, and campus support services, alongside fostering an inclusive and gender-safe environment, the program ensures students across all disciplines adapt effectively, safely, and successfully to university life.

Activities & Operations

From June 14 to 15, 2025, structured orientation sessions were delivered across two faculty groups. Day one accommodated freshmen from the Faculty of Education, Faculty of Management Sciences, and International College. Day two welcomed students from the Faculty of Technology and Engineering, Faculty of Science, Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, and Faculty of Nursing. Key operational activities included executive and faculty introductions, briefings on academic regulations and course registration, peer-bonding workshops led by student leaders, and community-building entertainment under the theme "Mor Mark Muan (Season 2)."

Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships

The successful execution of this freshman orientation program relied on intra-institutional collaboration. The operational host was led by the Student Development Division, working in direct synergy with university executives (led by President Asst. Prof. Dr. Kanissara Thansunthornsakul), the Office of Registrar and Evaluation, all academic faculties, the International College, the Student Organization, and student council networks.

Project Outputs

As a direct outcome of these joint operations, the entire cohort of incoming 2025 freshmen completed their orientation and achieved full readiness for university life. Moreover, new students received comprehensive registration guidelines and campus resource access, while developing peer-support networks with senior mentors, faculty members, and institutional staff.

Outcomes

The project aims for comprehensive outcomes across 4 key dimensions:

  • SDG 4 (Quality Education): Enhances student retention and educational success by providing comprehensive academic orientation, registration guidance, and learning support services for higher education.
  • SDG 5 (Gender Equality): Champions gender equality and diversity inclusion (LGBTQ+) by offering a safe, non-discriminatory environment where students of all gender identities can fully engage in campus activities.
  • SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities): Fosters social inclusion by creating an equal, welcoming environment for diverse student demographics, ensuring non-discriminatory access to campus resources and student welfare.
  • SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals): Strengthens internal institutional partnerships among university governance, academic divisions, and student organizations to support holistic youth development.
