Driving Local Action, Advancing Data, Mobilizing Investment, Connecting Communities
UNDP, together with UN-Habitat and the Ministry of Interior, with support from the Joint SDG Fund, is opening a forum for the discussion under the theme “Advancing local SDGs: Developing insights into investment and action.” The forum will showcase project achievements, underscore strategic milestones in Thailand’s progress on SDG localization, and provide a space for representatives from government, the private sector, and civil society organizations to share perspectives, experiences, and case studies. Discussion highlights include:
Linking local data with global goals and tracking SDG progress
Mobilizing finance to drive SDG action at the local level
Innovative approaches to local waste management and sustainability
Voices of youth, ethnic communities, and persons with disabilities: advancing toward a sustainable and resilient future
Supported by the Joint SDG Fund, the SDG-Localization project aims to translate the Sustainable Development Goals into concrete results at provincial and municipal levels in two pilot provinces, Udon Thani and Surat Thani, through promoting local budgeting and finance mobilization; tracking progress via Voluntary Local Reviews (VLRs), which invite communities to reflect their perspectives on sustainable development in their areas; and fostering whole-of-society collaboration.
