NACC and Udon Thani Rajabhat University Conduct "Young Smart Leaders Against Corruption" Workshop to Build Integrity Networks and Drive Transparency

The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), in collaboration with Udon Thani Rajabhat University, organizes the "Young Smart Leaders Against Corruption" workshop to empower youth leaders with honesty values and anti-corruption skills.

Context & Rationale

This youth empowerment and anti-corruption initiative centered on the practical workshop "Young Smart Leaders Against Corruption," organized under the broader "Young Smart Youth: Active Citizens for Integrity" program. Held from June 6 to 8, 2025, at Bueng Kan Innovation College, Udon Thani Rajabhat University, the program was jointly spearheaded by the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) and Udon Thani Rajabhat University. The primary rationale of this initiative is to instill moral integrity, anti-corruption values, and civic awareness in the younger generation. By fostering critical thinking, creative problem-solving, public communication, and anti-corruption monitoring skills, the project builds a resilient youth network capable of driving transparency, accountability, and good governance across Thai society.

Activities & Operations

From June 6 to 8, 2025, an intensive 3-day practical training program was successfully executed. Key operational activities included expert lectures on corruption prevention concepts, practical sessions on creative anti-corruption media design, and workshops on strategic communication for social change. Furthermore, participants engaged in group breakout sessions to develop actionable anti-corruption projects tailored for their schools and communities. Upon completion, participants received official certificates jointly issued by the NACC and UDRU, concluding with the formulation of action plans to extend anti-corruption advocacy into their respective local networks.

Multi-Stakeholder Partnerships

The successful implementation of this anti-corruption youth network was anchored in a strategic partnership between a national anti-graft agency and a regional higher education institution. The policy and content core was driven by the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), Thailand's primary anti-corruption constitutionally independent body. This national agency collaborated directly with Udon Thani Rajabhat University (including Bueng Kan Innovation College as the hosting unit and operational lead), along with local academic networks, educators, and youth leaders from schools across the Upper Northeastern region.

Project Outputs

As a direct outcome of these joint operations, a cohort of certified youth leaders ("Young Smart Leaders") successfully completed the workshop and earned accreditation from the NACC and UDRU. Moreover, participants acquired essential competencies in creative anti-corruption communication and project planning. Ultimately, the program established an active youth integrity network equipped with practical action plans to replicate anti-corruption initiatives in their respective schools and local communities.

Outcomes

The project aims for comprehensive outcomes across 3 key dimensions:

  • SDG 4 (Quality Education): Advances strong civic education and 21st-century skills—including critical thinking and creative communication—through hands-on, non-formal learning workshops, supporting holistic human capacity building for youth.
  • SDG 16 (Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions): Cultivates a culture of integrity, reduces future risks of corruption, and strengthens public governance by empowering young active citizens to advocate for transparency, accountability, and rule of law in their communities.
  • SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals): Fosters a solid multi-stakeholder partnership bridging a national anti-corruption agency (NACC), a regional university (UDRU), local schools, and youth networks to collaboratively advance transparent and sustainable social development goals.
